Sixnet's ET-GT industrial Ethernet gateways allow you to easily connect serial slave devices (such as a controller, PLC or RTU) to your network. You can connect most slave (responding) devices to the serial port. The master (interrogating) device must be on the Ethernet side. The master’s commands are passed from the Ethernet port to the serial port. The slave’s responses are passed back in the other direction. These converters support many protocols and are especially ideal for Modbus and Sixnet slave devices.
Connect up to 1 RS232 or 32 RS485 slave devices on serial side
Industrial rated -30 to 70°C
DIN-rail or direct-panel mounted

These gateways provide Ethernet access to your existing Modbus, Sixnet or other serial devices. You can gain all the advantages of Ethernet without replacing any hardware. Use these gateways in conjunction with the Sixnet OPC server to interface to any Windows software via OPC or DDE links. Also, most major HMI and SCADA software provide a Modbus/TCP or Modbus/UDP I/O driver that works seamlessly with these gateways.

This gateway is used to connect stations, with moderate to large amounts of SixTRAK I/O, to Ethernet. For small stations you can use an EtherTRAK I/O module or RemoteTRAK I/O modules connected to the RS485 port. Stations of more than 16 or 32 channels are better handled with a combination of this gateway and SixTRAK modules. Only one Ethernet 10BaseT tap is needed to connect up to 1024 SixTRAK I/O points.
The Ethernet port will respond to Modbus or Sixnet protocol. The RS232 port may be used for configuration and diagnostics or as an alternative means of accessing the I/O. The RS485 port may be used to add expansion I/O or Modbus devices. The Ethernet port, the RS232 port and the RS485 port can be used simultaneously.
Use the I/O Transfers window in the optional SCS feature set of the Sixnet I/O Tool Kit software when you are interfacing to EtherTRAK I/O, RemoteTRAK I/O or Modbus RS232 / RS485 devices. This gateway also polls SixTRAK modules and makes the I/O available to requests from many Windows applications.
Use the Modbus OPC Server or the Modbus/TCP driver in your HMI or SCADA software when you are interfacing to Modbus devices or Sixnet stations configured for Modbus.
